Technical Support Specialist
The Technical Support Specialist will support clients and users with technical problems that they may encounter in the operations of software, hardware, operating systems, e-mail, etc. Responsible for preparing procedures, documentation, and assisting the Systems Engineer with various tasks and projects.
Some of the essential duties include:
- Acting as the main contact for all IT support related issues from users reported via various means of communications (Autotask tickets, phone call and email)
- Taking appropriate actions to ensure satisfactory resolution within acceptable timeframes for the user
- Escalating issues to appropriate personnel when it is outside their own area of expertise
- Providing support for: laptops, desktops, desktop productivity tools, mobility options, Exchange, backups, IP telephone, client side business line applications and server infrastructure for clients
- Ability to assemble, install, upgrade and configure new computer resources, including hardware, software and applications in a Microsoft environment
- Facilitating repair and maintenance of equipment including servers, PCs, printers, VOIP and both directly and through contracted vendors. Ability to quickly diagnose system hardware, software, or operator problems and to take corrective action
Job Requirements
Education: A.S. Degree, or equivalent experience, 1 year of technical school training
Experience: 1 year or relevant experience
- Candidates must be proficient in Windows 10 and Microsoft Office
- Some experience with Microsoft Windows Server and virtualization technology
- Experience supporting Microsoft Exchange and Outlook
- Experience with supporting Microsoft Internet Information Server experience
- Experience with Android and Apple iOS connectivity to MS Exchange server
- Experience in Office 365 a plus
- Strong at working with users of ALL levels including executives and Level 1 and Level 2 help desk
- Microsoft SharePoint maintenance and support
- Firewall maintenances
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP and general networking concepts including DNS, DHCP, FTP & VPN
- Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (routers, switches, firewalls, cabling, wireless)
- Anti-virus and backup software knowledge
- Understanding of Active Directory User Environment
- Valid Drivers License and Ability to Pass a Driving Background Check
