We recently received notification of a discovered vulnerability in Microsoft Office. There is no reason to be panicked, however, we must be VIGILIANT.
At this time, DO NOT download any Word or MS office documents from the Internet or by email that you are not expecting.
You have the power as an end user of mitigating this risk by simply practicing safe internet hygiene and only downloading documents that you are expecting.
While we expect a patch from Microsoft soon, please be extra cautious about opening Word, Excel, or other Microsoft documents from any source that you do not fully trust. Please be sure to relay this information to the rest of your team as well.
